  • A leading computer manufacturer: Acting in pursuing dealers in grey market hardware in the UK, Netherlands and Denmark.

  • A manufacturer of wine box components: Acting on patent litigation in the UK, also involving actions in France and Spain.

  • A major US industrial company: We acted on the US$410 m acquisition of an automotive parts business spread over 10 European jurisdictions and the US.

  • A leading privately owned railway and locomotive company:  We represented the company in an arbitration in London and satellite litigation in another country concerning the operation of the entire railway networks of two developing countries.

  • BAA-McArthur/Glen: Advising on the development financing of new outlet centres in France, Austria Italy and the Netherlands The aggregate of the loan facilities was approximately €150,000,000. 

  • Boosey & Hawkes: We acted in the £34m MBO of its musical instruments division involving the UK, France and Germany.

  • Credit Suisse: Representing in the acquisition loan facilities for the purchase of commercial real estate in Rome and Genoa.

  • Crisscross Communications:  We provided insolvency advice and restructuring options to, a pan-European group of
    telecommunications companies. The case made groundbreaking use of the European Insolvency Regulation with the same English based administrators appointed for all of the group, including companies in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain and (outside of the EC) in Switzerland.

  • Curzon Capital Partners LP: Advising on a €450m portfolio sale of 11 investment assets located in the Italy, France, Holland and Finland. 

  • Eurostar: We acted on the Project Jupiter restructuring of Eurostar's operations in the UK, France and Belgium, dealing with
    competition, state aid and procurement issues. 

  • European Commission: In conjunction with consultant economists, Europe Economics, we carried out a study for the European Commission on the implementation of the EU public procurement rules in the EU Member States.  We have also been appointed to the Commission's panel of law firms for DG Transport and Energy. 

  • GIC Real Estate: We advised on a joint venture with ING Real Estate Southern European Fund on the acquisition of a 50% share and loan interest in a major shopping centre in Lungenezza, Rome. 

  • Heitman’s Central Europe Property Fund II (a Luxembourg FCP):  We acted on the acquisition of an office portfolio in Bratislava, Slovakia, representing the largest institutional purchase in the Slovakian market. 

  • Henderson Investors, on behalf of Pearl Assurance, and Pradera: We acted on the acquisition of a €400m of 14 shopping centres worth €225m located in Italy, Spain, Portugal and in Eastern Europe. 

  • NALOO: We acted for the UK Government in defending actions brought by the National Association of Licensed Opencast Operators before the European Commission and in the European courts (Court of First Instance and European Court of Justice), concerning allegations of abuse of dominant position in the coal industry. 

  • New Media Spark: We acted in the acquisition of Cell ICD AB, a Swedish investment company, for £80m.

  • LED International Holdings Limited: Acting for a Chinese company that specialises in the development, manufacture and sale of LED screens and other LED products on its AIM flotation.  

  • Liquidator of Swissair: We acted on a range of UK and cross border aspects of the liquidation of the SwissAir Group.

  • LL Mining Corporation: Advising in connection with a Directors and Officers insurance claim arising out of the liquidation of Namibian Minerals Corporation.  The liquidation was in South Africa and the policy of insurance was written through the London market. 

  • SEGRO: We advised on the acquisition of a €100m portfolio of 15 properties in nine European countries. 

  • Sondex PLC: Advising on the acquisition of a Canadian business supplying instrumentation and tools for drilling operations in oil and gas wells and on the acquisition of a USA based technology development company. 

  • US Department of Justice and the Securities Exchange Commission: We have regularly acted in various matters in England.  In one case, we were successful before the House of Lords in arguing a point on state immunity.

  • Warburg Henderson: We acted on the €123m purchase of three logistics buildings in France, Germany and Netherlands.
