Nabarro LLP is acting for the Brent Cross/Cricklewood Development Partners who have applied for planning permission for the £4.5 billion mixed use regeneration scheme to redevelop the area to the south of Brent Cross Shopping Centre to provide a new town centre for North London.

On 19 November 2009 the London Borough of Barnet's Planning Committee resolved to grant planning permission for this ground-breaking scheme. The scheme is the result of more than 10 years work by the development partners assisted by Nabarro and their consultant team. The development partners are Hammerson, Brookfield Europe and Standard Life.

These include new railway and bus stations, improvements to existing railway and underground stations, three new schools, new health, community and leisure facilities and a host of other benefits. They aim also to cut carbon emissions at the new premises by up to 60%.

The team at Nabarro is being led by planning partner, Martin Evans with assistance from consultant, David Hawkins, senior associate Rob Bruce. Kevin Stimpson at Nabarro is acting for Hammerson and Standard Life on real estate issues. Eversheds LLP and Paul Winter are acting for the London Borough of Barnet and Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP are acting for Transport for London.

Martin Evans, planning partner at Nabarro comments: "We are proud to have worked alongside the development partners and the public authorities to reach this important milestone.
