Nabarro has this week hosted a sixth form link up with Sheffield Springs Academy giving students practical advice to help them succeed when they leave school.
The day included workshops and mentoring to help the sixth formers with CVs, applications and presentations to give them the very best chance to reach university, access training courses and apprenticeships or successfully enter the world of work.
The students also had the opportunity to question a panel of Nabarro staff, working in different parts of the law firm, about their experiences of work, education and training.
Martin McKervey, partner at Nabarro in Sheffield, commented:
"The enthusiasm of the students and their excitement about further education and work life after they leave school was a credit to Sheffield Springs Academy and inspiration to all Nabarro staff involved in this event. The firm is committed to supporting young people - it's one of the most rewarding activities we're involved with in the local community. If this most recent event is anything to go by, I am confident this new generation of potential employees and graduates has a bright future."
Carole Mason of Sheffield Springs Academy said:
"Our sixth formers were buzzing about the experience at the Nabarro day. Events such as these provide invaluable enrichment for our students and enhance their academic work, as well as raising aspirations."
Following on from the day, Nabarro will be offering a mentoring service to students applying to university, helping them with UCAS application forms and offering guidance on preparing for leaving home and starting their further education.
