Nabarro has acted for Hermes and LaSalle on the £141.5 million sale to Invesco Real Estate of One Finsbury Circus – the former HQ of British Petroleum before it moved to Canary Wharf.
Having acted on the acquisition of the building when it was let to BP, Nabarro acted for a joint venture between BT and Post Office pension funds on its subsequent redevelopment and then on the letting to Stephenson Harwood who moved into the building earlier this month as its new London office.
The landmark building, which won a City Heritage Award in 2009, offers 210,000 square feet of prime office space behind a Grade II Listed façade.
Simon Staite, real estate partner who led the Nabarro team, said:
"This sale demonstrates that prime central London property remains really attractive to investors and this is one of a number of big deals in the City in the last 12 months. Having been redeveloped in the City core and let to Stephenson Harwood, One Finsbury Circus attracted fierce market interest."
