Nabarro appoints Head of Regional Strategy

Corporate partner Andrea Cropley has been appointed Head of Regional Strategy at Nabarro as the commercial law firm today launches a new focus on supporting manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and the real estate, energy and public sectors in Yorkshire and Humber.

As well as acting on some of the largest projects and for some of the biggest names regionally in both the private and public sectors including DavyMarkham, Millennium Inorganic Chemicals, EDF Energy, Sheffield City Council and UK Coal, Nabarro has developed a strategy to provide services tailored to key sectors in the region.

Each sector has been allocated a dedicated team of lawyers led by senior partners Ben Hendry for entrepreneurs, Martin McKervey for manufacturing/energy, Paul Paling for real estate and Tim Shaw for the public sector.

Commenting on her appointment, Andrea Cropley said:

"The business landscape has changed dramatically over the 21 years that Nabarro has been based in the region. It's vital we adapt to meet the needs of clients in both the public and private sectors, while continuing to offer the user-friendly, business savvy legal advice we're known for as a firm.

"Yorkshire is a hub for manufacturing, precision engineering, energy and digital media. The Leeds and Sheffield Enterprise Zones will create opportunity for growth in these sectors, will drive real estate development and support innovative new companies in the region.

"In response to this, we have shaped teams of experienced lawyers with practical experience advising manufacturers and clients in the energy, real estate and public sectors and supporting entrepreneurial activity. In addition we are developing tailored products and services, like our range of flat fee contracts and advice for start-ups and entrepreneurs."

Examples of the Nabarro 'sector focus' strategy in practice over recent months includes its commitment to supporting the Global Manufacturing Festival, acting on the Sheffield City centre Sevenstone development, advising on the launch of Kevin Parkin's green start-up R3 Products, and supporting local engineering firms in international markets with the help of the Nabarro office in Singapore.

As well as taking on the new role of Head of Regional Strategy at Nabarro, Andrea has 20 years' experience specialising in corporate and corporate finance transactions for public and private UK and international companies including IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, complex schemes of arrangement, restructurings and capital reorganisations.

Andrea is also a member of the Sheffield Business Advisory Panel and is a member of the Access to Finance Committee led by Sheffield City Council.
