Nabarro helps S4B secure Manchester housing PFI opportunity

1 February 2013

Nabarro has advised Equitix-led consortium S4B on its successful tender to become preferred bidder for a £113m PFI housing regeneration scheme for Manchester City Council.

The scheme involves the redesign of much of the Brunswick area in east Manchester, with a mix of around 1,200 homes, new care facilities, a new library, retail facilities and associated infrastructure improvements. The project is due to reach financial close in June 2013.

The final two bidders for the project were the Fern consortium (made up of Harvest Housing and Gleeson) and S4B (made up of Equitix, Contour Homes and Galliford Try).

This is the second housing PFI project which Nabarro has worked on for Equitix, which is a market leading investor and fund manager of core infrastructure assets. The Nabarro team was led by Projects partner Robin Baillie with support from senior associates Stefanie Atchinson and Anna Le Jehan and associate Georgina Spearing.

Robin Baillie, projects partner at Nabarro, said:

"This is a great win for everyone at S4B. The team at Nabarro is delighted to be involved in what is such a significant project for Manchester and we look forward to working with the consortium to reach financial close over the next six months."
