Following a competitive pitch, Nabarro has won a place as national legal services provider to Sport England, the government agency responsible for developing and investing in community sport in England.
Nabarro will support Sport England across a wide range of legal disciplines including public law, procurement, planning, litigation and employment.
This appointment builds on a project led by partner Elizabeth Cooper to advise on complex procurement of suppliers to manage Sport England's flagship National Sports Centres including Bisham Abbey and Lilleshall, all of which are being used as training venues for the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.
Scott Pugh, principal in-house solicitor at Sport England said:
"We have been impressed with the procurement experience of Elizabeth and her colleagues and their understanding of our sector. I'm delighted we'll be able to continue working with Nabarro now they have joined our legal panel."
Elizabeth Cooper, partner at Nabarro, said:
"Nabarro is carving out a niche for its work on leisure and sporting venues. Our team, which includes partner Mark Rocca and senior associate Anita Chib, recently acted on Basildon Sporting Village and the development of leisure management contracts for the London Borough of Southwark. This appointment to the Sport England panel is an exciting development, particularly in the run up to the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games."
