Nabarro hosts Women in Property South East Awards

28 May 2009

On 13 May, Nabarro hosted the Women in Property South East Student Awards at their London office.

The Women in Property National Student Awards were launched in 2007 to mark the 20th birthday of the association. The awards are open to second year, female students studying a built environment course and are run in conjunction with the Construction Youth Trust (CYT).

This is the scheme's third successive year with 40 universities nationwide putting forward their rising stars, totalling 60 of the most talented students from across the country being entered. The South East winner was announced as Elizabeth Waters, who is studying MEng Civil Engineering at the University of Surrey. The award was presented to Elizabeth by Marie Scott, a real estate partner at Nabarro.

Over 70 people from the property industry attended the event and the evening started with some speed networking led by Liz Russell, business development manager at Nabarro, who is the current chairman of Women in Property in the South East.

Commenting after the event, Liz Russell, Nabarro, said:

“Despite the impact of recession, it is so important that the property industry recognises the great pool of talent available to them at the earliest possible stage. We are very proud to have such commitment from the judges involved in these awards, who clearly recognise the long term benefits to the wider industry.”
