Nabarro advises on £400m city property sale to German fund

4 June 2007

Nabarro advised KanAm Grund on the purchase of One Exchange Square, in the City, from FTSE 100 property company British Land.

The current tenant, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, has a lease of just under 16 years left on the building. The sale is one of the largest single office deals this year.

Deborah Parry, Partner at Nabarro, comments:  “We have undertaken three significant transactions for KanAm Grund in the last two years and were delighted to be called upon again to represent the fund.  The timetable to which we had to work was challenging, to meet the seller’s aspirations, particularly with the need to understand the Broadgate Estate in some detail and I am glad to say that both KanAm Grund and we met it, with a few minutes to spare!”

Deborah Parry led the team supported by James Beauchamp, Marie Scott, James Pearson and Richard Roberts (real estate), Robert Bruce (planning) and Kate Grayling (corporate).

British Land were represented by Lewis Myers at SJ Berwin LLP.
