New partner successes at Nabarro

21 June 2007

The three newly promoted corporate partners at Nabarro (Richard Beavan, Jonathan Cantor and Russell Holden) have had a successful couple of months since appointment.

Richard Beavan has led the team acting for Collins Stewart on a placing to raise £100 million for Summit Germany Limited (an AIM traded German real estate investment company) and scooped a first instruction for Nabarro from Arbuthnot Securities, advising them on a placing to raise £4 million for Invu Inc. (an AIM traded software company).

Jonathan Cantor led a successful pitch with Graham Stedman, which saw Nabarro being appointed as principal corporate adviser to Sportingbet plc.

Russell Holden has led the team advising Oriel Securities on a secondary fundraising for Speedy Hire plc (an Official List company specialising in tool and equipment hire) and related acquisition. Speedy Hire Plc is acquiring the tool hire division of Hewden Stuart plc for a cash consideration of £115 million.  It has also arranged new banking facilities of £325 million and is raising £55 million through the placing arranged by Oriel.

Iain Newman, head of the corporate group at Nabarro, commented:

"Jonathan, Russell and Richard, are great additions to the partnership and are valuable members of the corporate team. They show the high calibre of people that Nabarro continues to promote to the partnership. We are committed to growing our corporate practice and the group continues to thrive and expand following the recent hire of Patrick Speller, from Allen and Overy, and the hires last year of Ian Binnie, Elliot Shear and Ben Hendry."
