Ian Radford
Ian is a Partner in our Construction and Engineering group and is a highly-respected specialist in infrastructure, engineering, transport, and energy projects. He has a wide range of transactional and dispute resolution skills that are deployed in major capital investment projects, both within the UK and internationally. Ian's clients typically include large engineering, contracting, and consulting firms; participants in PFI and PPP projects; and suppliers and procurers of high-value and/or technically advanced infrastructure.
Ian is recognised by Chambers 2010 as someone who "advises with impressive boldness and accuracy". Ian drafted the main Nabarro submission to the Jackson enquiry into civil litigation costs and he regularly presents seminars and lectures on matters as diverse as the application of the NEC3 standard forms of contract to publicly procured projects, approaches to problematic PFI/PPP contracts, and new approaches to civil dispute resolution funding. Ian is a member of the International Bar Association and the Society for Construction Law.
Ian has extensive international experience, having qualified and worked for several years in Australia and the Far East (based in Hong Kong). He has worked on projects in (amongst other places) China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Azerbaijan, UAE and Tanzania.
