Robin is a Partner in the Projects team. Over the last 12 years he has advised on PFI and PPP projects around the world. In the UK, Robin’s experience has been predominantly advising sponsors and the public sector on PFI/PPP projects in the housing, regeneration, energy and health sectors.
More recently, Robin has particularly focused on the accommodation sector where he is acknowledged as a leading player in the market. He has led the team advising on over a third of the major housing PFI projects closed to date, including the pathfinder schemes at Reading and Canning Town and is currently advising on seven other schemes at various stages of procurement. Whilst most of his clients are project sponsors, he also advises the public sector, banks, housing associations and sub-contractors. Robin’s unique ability to understand the concerns of all sides on a deal can be invaluable.
Chambers 2010 lists Robin as a key individual and he is described as having “unrivalled experience of social housing schemes; his expertise in the effective structuring of schemes makes him a real money-saver – he gets the answer faster than anyone else can.”
Robin is regularly quoted in the leading sector journals such as Infrastructure Journal and PPP Bulletin and has recently been in the news promoting Nabarro's new flexible housing model which he devised in response to the housing finance reforms being introduced in the Localism Bill.
