Efficiency and Outsourcing

The targets being set by the Coalition to reduce the budget deficit make it essential for organisations, whether in the public or private sectors, to find efficiencies in the way they do business. To meet this challenge, our clients are looking at business processes, frameworks, outsourcing and partnerships. In the public sector, there will be a drive to transformation – through Public Private Partnerships, and other joint ventures (including with the third sector).

To help meet these challenges we bring together a deep understanding of both the public and private sectors, together with commercial, public procurement and other legal skills. Our technology team brings valuable expertise in BPR and IT outsourcing.

Over the last few years we have acted on 30 major outsourcing projects and have worked with clients to develop new joint venture arrangements, notably between government (central and local) and private sector providers. We work with our clients to find innovative solutions to secure efficiencies and value for money across all areas of business activity.

Examples include local government transformation partnerships, housing repairs and maintenance services, HR and payroll, ICT services, facilities management services and transport services.

We advise on how to transfer employees and assets (including premises) and assign or novation third party contracts. Our procurement experts advise on the most appropriate route for a particular project and have been at the forefront of acting on projects using competitive dialogue procedures. Drawing on our knowledge of employment, pensions, insurance, facilities management and ICT as well as effective payment mechanisms, we provide pragmatic advice to private sector outsourcing clients and contractors.
