PPP

Public Private Partnerships are well established as a route to deliver new infrastructure and service improvement in the public sector.  Under the Coalition Government, funding methods and legal structures will evolve - community interest companies, TIFs, asset vehicles, etc.  Clients will therefore expect their lawyers to be creative, as well as commercially astute. Continuing economic pressures will mean the public sector increasingly turning to the private sector for solutions based on partnership.

Our track record in delivering PFI and other forms of PPP spans education, waste, energy, housing and regeneration and police buildings. We have closed seven BSF (Building Schools for the Future) projects and four waste deals. In housing and regeneration we are helping to set up partnerships and asset backed vehicles. Our technology team work on IT procurement and outsourcing deals. Our team is active in putting together strategic partnerships and special purpose companies, for public authorities, project sponsors and funders.

We pride ourselves in having deep sector knowledge combined with the commercial skills needed to secure our clients' objectives. Through working for both public and private sector clients we have transferrable skills, being a great benefit to our clients. We add value through knowhow sharing, skills transfer, training, and secondments to and from our clients.

We are appointed to the full commercial section of the Central Government Buying Solutions Legal Panel, which means we are approved suppliers for all forms of commercial work to the public sector, including
local government. For more information about Nabarro on Buying Solutions, please visit our dedicated Buying Solutions micro site.

We are members of the PPP Forum and our lawyers belong to the Procurement Lawyers Association – both organisations keeping us fully up to date with developments in this field.
