Our team works on all aspects of taxation and property - from simple transactions to complex structures optimising clients' income, capital gains, VAT and stamp duty land tax positions. As well as supporting our colleagues in the Real Estate group, we also work with the firm's Corporate real estate experts to establish and represent a wide variety of joint ventures and property funds. Our clients range from property companies to funds, pension funds and government investment vehicles.

As one of the leaders in real estate tax, we have been at the forefront of the introduction of Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) - tracking the legislation, advising clients on the consequences of conversion and of the need for pre-conversion restructuring. We advised three of the initial nine real estate companies converting to REIT status on 1 January 2007.
