  • SwissAir AG – Assisting the Swiss liquidator of SwissAir in bringing a range of avoidance actions (including preference claims) against parties in Switzerland, the UK and elsewhere. Working jointly, we overcame a wide range of complex cross-border issues, leading to substantial recoveries for the estate.

  • Continental Assurance Company – Successfully defending one of the directors of Continental Assurance Company London PLC (in liquidation) against a wrongful trading and misfeasance claim commenced by the liquidators of the company. This involved an indemnity costs order being made against the liquidators and is a leading authority on wrongful trading (reported at [2001] BPIR 733-952 Number 5).

  • Pilot Clothing Limited – Advising the joint liquidators of various companies within this well known high street fashion chain, on a range of avoidance actions.

  • A major international construction and development company  – Acting on recovery of a substantial counter-party debt due part way through a major development, involving contested winding-up proceedings.
