Diversity and Inclusion

Nabarro values the contribution that all our people make to our success

We are committed to making the most of the diverse skills, expertise, experience, attitudes and backgrounds of all our staff and clients to ensure that the firm is the best it can be, both now and in the future.

We recognise the importance of diversity to the business as we continue to access new and changing markets, and seek to innovate our services to best meet the needs of our clients.

Nabarro is committed to equality of opportunity in all areas of employment, including recruitment, development, performance and promotion and we aim to treat all staff fairly, with dignity and respect, in line with our core values.

Our commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity is reflected in the firm's stated values and through specific initiatives we support, which most recently include:

  • Ongoing, bi-monthly Diversity: What It Means To Us workshops for all employees joining the firm.
  • Production of an annual, comprehensive talent profile for the firm to allow us to benchmark our position in relation to diversity and other areas. A summary of the profile is detailed below.
  • Contribution to the Legal Diversity league table published by the Black Solicitor’s Network in association with the Law Society. In 2006, we were ranked 14th nationally across all sizes and types of firm.
  • Support for the University of Westminster's Diversity in the Legal Profession - Summer Associate Programme.
  • Focusing on a number of initiatives to help build an understanding of careers in the legal sector for young people, from non-traditional legal entry backgrounds, at various stages in their lives. This includes work with local universities and working with young 'leaders of the future'.
  • Generating mentoring opportunities for staff through our community programme, which has members of the firm working with young people from disadvantaged social backgrounds.
  • Involvement in multi-sectoral diversity initiatives such as London First Diversity Panel and Oxford Brookes University Centre for Diversity studies.
