The health tech sector is a market full of potential in terms of both innovation and investment.
To better understand how key players are involved in the development, manufacture, purchasing, and utilisation of health technology, Nabarro commissioned a survey of hospital physicians, hospital purchasing managers, SMEs involved in health tech, and investors who had either put money into it or were planning to do so.
67% of clinicians believe that procurement practices are disconnected from front-line staff; and 51% believe that clinical needs are not taken into account. To read the whole report please click here.
For the 9th consecutive year, Nabarro has joined forces with HealthInvestor to create the 2016 Healthcare Industry Barometer. This year, the Healthcare Barometer addresses one of the key issues from 2016, the referendum result. Interestingly, though, the Barometer shows the impact of the vote to be less profound compared to other sectors.
A dominant theme throughout the Barometer is that despite the challenging environment in which the healthcare sector operates, investors remain upbeat and confident, particularly in the private arena. Whatever challenges administrators, politicians and the wider economic landscape throw at the healthcare sector, the report argues investors will always be able to identify opportunities for good returns. Following the vote to leave the EU, we have created a guide which identifies the potential impact of Brexit on the Healthcare & Life Sciences sector. Foreign investment in the sector is likely to take a hit. REITs that traditionally liked the UK market as an entry to the EU single market may now decide to focus their investments on other jurisdictions. This guide will provide you with the key implications that you need to be aware of and a sector key contact should you wish to discuss this further. A copy of the guide can be downloaded here.
